Since "public relation" (PR) has been an important part to build a brand of a company, our school invited a PR staff "Tina" who is from Sportsoho to share about her experience and duties.
I love this lecture!!!
During the lecture, Tina tells the actual duties of PR and shares her own experience. Sometimes, although we learn a lot from the papers, we don't know how to perform what we learnt actually. It's because there were difficulties and different situations inside the reality, no exact cases are fit on the cases that we learnt. On top of that, it makes the lecture being more interesting and essential.
At the beginning, Tina talks about the job description and duties of a PR person. Here has no any special things as we also learnt them before this guest lecture. And what I expect is the part of sharing.

Tina spoke in Cantonese so I could better understand what she said and shared. I think this is a good arrangement for students as it is easier to attract our attention. During the lecture, Tina shared some tips on holding a news conference. For example, she pointed out that Tue, Wed and Thu are more suitable to press conference. She explained the reason is that the media attendance will decrease on Monday when people would not like to get work after the holidays on Sat and Sun. So, Mon, Sat and Sun are not good for a conference. She also pointed out that the benefits of the press conference will be lower when it is hold on Friday because there have no free newspaper on Sat which means less people will pay attention on our company or event.
On the other hand, Tina showed us the ways of promotion inside this industry. Before she talked about WeChat and Weibo, I had no deep understanding within these two community apps. I knew they could share things and discussing topics but I ever don't know that they should be include as ways of promotion. Tina also described the importance and necessary of using these two apps especially when you get promotion in Mainland China. This also shows that effectiveness of Weibo and WeChat inside the reality of China.
That was a wonderful lecture especially the tips of PR. Her experience and sharing broadened my horizon of public relation.
